We forgot to take photos of the LEMON PIE! It was delicious! :) I hope everyone liked their Bath and Body Works "Kitchen Lemon" foamed hand soap!
Lolly Blanchard's life only seems to give her lemons. Ten years ago, after her mother’s tragic death, she broke up with her first love and abandoned her dream of opening a restaurant in order to keep her family’s struggling Seattle diner afloat and care for her younger sister and grieving father. Now, a decade later, she dutifully whips up the diner’s famous lemon meringue pies each morning while still pining for all she's lost.
As Lolly’s thirty-third birthday approaches, her quirky great-aunt gives her a mysterious gift—three lemon drops, each of which allows her to live a single day in a life that might have been hers. What if her mom hadn’t passed away? What if she had opened her own restaurant in England? What if she hadn’t broken up with the only man she's ever loved? Surprising and empowering, each experience helps Lolly let go of her regrets and realize the key to transforming her life lies not in redoing her past but in having the courage to embrace her present.

"Barefoot," by Elin Hilderbrand
Date: Saturday July 16
Three women--burdened with small children, unwieldy straw hats, and some obvious emotional issues--tumble onto the Nantucket airport tarmac one hot June day. Vicki is trying to sort through the news that she has a serious illness. Her sister, Brenda, has just left her job after being caught in an affair with a student. And their friend Melanie, after seven failed in vitro attempts, is pregnant at last--but only after learning that her husband is having an affair. They have come to escape, enjoy the sun, and relax in Nantucket's calming air. But into the house, into their world, steps twenty-two-year-old Josh Flynn.
Barefoot weaves these four lives together in a story with enthralling sweep and scope--a novel that is as fun and memorable and bittersweet as that one perfect day of summer.

BOOK CLUB CELEBRATION! :)
Today we celebrated our friendship with Ivan and Martha as they bid Book Club goodbye due to family obligations and travel. Ivan and Martha have been a great part of Page Turners with their inspiration, insight and generosity. We will miss them!
We also acknowledged our 10-Year Anniversary.
Patty researched 10-Year Anniversaries and discovered the traditional metal is aluminum or tin: "It reflects flexibility and durability."
